Marriage of Laurent and Janine Boix-Vives, future owners and founders of Le Strato. The couple settled in Courchevel one year later.
Laurent Boix-Vives acquired the Rossignol company located in Isère. He would succeed in taking it to the rank of world N°1 in skiing equipment, and ran the firm until 2005.
Rossignol developed the first model of fiberglass skis. Designed by Laurent Boix-Vives, the legendary Strato was adopted by skiers all over the world.
Laurent and Janine Boix-Vives undertook a new large-scale project in Courchevel with construction of the 5-star hotel, Le Strato.
Two years later, the hotel was inaugurated, unveiling 25 Rooms and Suites of discreet luxury, all benefitting from outdoor areas with views of the mountains.
Signed by Les Héritiers (Pierre Dubois and Aimé Cécile), Le Strato's interior decor was rewarded by a Milan Design Award.
With experience in the kitchens of the famous Chef Jean-André Charial (L'Oustau de Baumanière), Thomas Prod’homme succeeded Glenn Viel at Le Strato's star-rated restaurant, Baumanière 1850.
Le Strato celebrated its 10th anniversary. For the occasion, artist Richard Orlinski produced a capsule collection of the renowned Strato ski.
Closed due to the pandemic in 2021, Le Strato re-opened its doors with a brand new lobby, restaurant and bar.
