This iconic resort still nurtures its reputation for luxury, comfort, and hospitality. Part of Les 3 Vallées, the history of the world’s largest ski domain with 330 slopes totalling over 600 km is closely linked to the village of Saint-Bon where the resort’s first hotel, Le Lac Bleu, was built in 1908. The first ski lifts had to wait until 1946. Thanks to architect Laurent Chappis, tourist development escalated from the 1960’s. Sports fans and celebrities crowded in, enjoying skiing, restaurants, and boutiques.
In 1992, Courchevel hosted the Albertville Olympic Games, an event taking it centre-stage internationally. Also renowned for its gastronomy, its Savoyard traditions are honoured in star-rated addresses, delighting a clientele seeking authenticity. Culinary, but also cultural, heritage. On typical narrow streets, the resort’s six villages unveil charming chapels, churches, chalets… As for nature, green valleys, dense forests, and Alpine lakes at altitudes from 1,100 to 1,850 m offer walks and excursions, in summer and winter.
